In October of 2010 we had two housefuls of visitors. Katrina’s mom and grandma Green came to visit. During Grandma Green’s last visit in 2008 we joked that she is like Haley’s Comet; she only come every 70 years (It was her first time here since 1938). As she left she said that she loved her visit but she wouldn’t come again. So, for her 95th birthday in 2010 we gave her a plane ticket to come again.

We also planned for Tonio’s mom to come during the same time. Tonio wanted his mom to experience the gorgeous Fall leaves in Virginia. During our family’s visit we were able to go on a White House tour arranged with the help of our cousin’s wife, Ivy. There was a bill signing that day so we had to move quickly through the tour. It was interesting looking out the windows that you usually look in. We loved the colors of the various rooms (Green, Blue, and Red Rooms), the furniture, and the portraits of past presidents.
We went down to an apple festival near Charlottesville, Virginia. It is on the hilltop next to Monticello. Our friends Ali and Steve go down every year. We were able to meet up with them and pick apples. They had the best apple cider doughnuts. Eric, Alisha, and Sasha (their dog) came with us. It was a beautiful day. It was very popular; however, we were still able to pick plenty of tasty apples.
Come on, you know you want some.

Hello Gorgeous!
We went and saw Cirque du Soleil Ovo near National Harbor. As always it was an amazing show. This production was based on an egg that is brought into a world of insects. The grasshoppers did some awesome tumbling. The spiders were very agile and the dragonfly was flexible and strong.
Tonio took his mom to the National Arboretum to see more changing leaves and the Bonsai tree exhibit. She loved it. On their way back they went to the Cheesecake Factory. She loved it too.

We even got everyone to try our Wii games. Katrina's mom was rockin' the Hula Hoop.

The following weekend we drove back down to Charlottesville. My grandma wanted to meet up with her cousin, Del Low, who just turned 90 years old. We were able to meet for a nice lunch. After lunch we went over to Monticello.

I can't believe you two are leaving that soon. Why would you ruin such a great story with such a SAD ENDING????
Grandma /green on the Wii=priceless! Katrina, where do you live? I live near Charlotte and my sister Jenni (I think she taught your seminary class for a little bit) lives near Danville VA.
Can you just please make sure that the crazy red flower hat makes at least one appearance in every blog post for the rest of your lives?
Erika, Will do. Tonio thinks it will be our trademark. It is funny that in our Louisiana post you and I both wear the crazy red flower hat! Even the same day moments apart.
